Having lived in San Diego for over 4 years, this restaurant in LA is one of the best Indian restaurants to eat at, especially when you have family visiting! The flavor was very close to home cooked food, not overly spicy and oily. Run by a homely Punjabi family, I felt right at home with their warm greetings. Highly recommend! Read less

Everything was great! My daughter and I ate dinner here and we left very satisfied! We ordered the veggie pakoras, dahi bapri, makhani paneer and chana masala and all dishes were delicious and filling! The food was very authentic and well made - you could tell the ingredients were natural. The owner made us feel like we were right at home as soon as we walked in, making it an enjoyable and pleasant experience. Finally, all of our food and drinks came really fast which is perfect because we came ready to eat! We highly recommend this divine restaurant if you're looking for a welcoming environment with food that transports you to India, something that's rare to find here. Read less

We hit this restaurant for dinner by accident. We were at LACMA in the evening, wanted an Indian place for dinner and were recommended this place by the LACMA security staff. The restaurant was full but we got a table quickly. The restaurant was run by a Punjabi family, who were brilliant, cordial, polite, caring, full of smile and extended the homely comfort and warmth, so quintessential to Punjabi Sardar families for their guests! We ordered 2 set non-veg thalis, one with chicken tikka masala and the other with fish vindaloo. We also ordered ala carte chicken tikka masala with garlic naans. The food was very tasty, the spice level suited to our palate/stomach and the portions were generous and sumptuous. Later when I let the manager know that I was craving for yellow dal after being away from home over a week, he went out of his way to get me a complimentary bowl of yellow dal and also gave us complimentary gulab jamuns. Such extension of love when received so far away from home just captures your heart and touches your soul. So thankful to India Grill, would def eat again if I am visiting LA and would highly recommend anyone who wants to experience an authentic north indian food with genuine hospitality. Read less
