Visited San Idli with my family during our visit to San Diego from PHX, AZ! We had Veg Thali, Masala Dose along with some starters! It was treat to us and food quality was really good! Feels good to have home like food! Quality-Quantity is Just Perfect and definitely not over priced! We tried authentic MysorePak as well! It was truly a great experience and particularly during travel, it’s a great thing to find quality Indian food! Don’t miss out the filter coffee! All in all, Highly recommend! And Value for Money! Really love the idlis; they were really soft. Vadai was crispy and soft. Chutneys tasted good, balanced level of spice and flavour. I visited 1 year ago but unfortunately the idlis were rock hard and I would haven given a 1/5, & did not come back in a long time. Good to know they improved ! :) would visit again. Read less

My goodness, what a place!! I would happily be a vegetarian, if the food is this good. I tried the thali, it was amazing. Everything on the arhali was delicious. The place has a lot of seating, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. You can tell that they put thoughts in their food by tasting each item. From the flavor of pure desi ghee in their halwa to the crispiness of their pappar, this is a good place to fill your heart with some delicious vegetarian food. While you are here, get some desi chai. I have seen as many non-desi as I have seen desi eat here, which only shows that the food is appreciated by everyone. Read less

One of a kind restaurant… I would say its a life saver & Gem of San Diego for Indian people(vegetarian community). Every single food item is 10 on 10 . dosa’s , uttapam’s idli’s Chinese food malabar porotha vegetable korma paneer tikka masala & Rava kesari. We went there twice in a day for 2 days in a row.. Big shout out to Manager VivEK for taking care of our orders and coping up with hustle we made every time , as we ordered 14 items in one go, we soon found out we ran out of space for food on our table. San Idli is an absolute gem in San Diego! Amazing food and equally amazing staff!! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuinely friendly service. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. Tried virtually every food item they offer over multiple visits. Every dish is bursting with authentic South Indian flavor. The idlis are soft and perfectly steamed, the dosas are crisp and golden, and the chutneys and sambar are incredibly fresh and flavorful. Our favorite items are the veg noodles and the Pav Bhaji which reminds us of the same great taste we get back in India!! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a wholesome, flavorful, and friendly dining experience. We’ll definitely be back! Read less
