I have to say that I first saw this place while we got lost our very first day in New Orleans. They happened to be closed, but I looked at their food options, and they intrigued me. Fast forward to 3 days, and I kept thinking about their menu, and I decided that we had to go here for our last dinner. When we got there, I had the idea that we would split one entrée, but that soon changed when they asked if we had a reservation. We didn't, but they still sat us outside. This place must be very good if you need a reservation to sit inside. Therefore, I decided we would go all out. We first started with the frog legs. My fiancé was a bit freaked out, but after talking to our waitress and after me convincing her to live it up, she went for it. They were absolutely the best frog legs I've ever had. I've had them in Utah, and I've tried making them on my own. Both didn't even come close to how good these are. We also ordered an iced Thai tea and an iced Thai coffee. Both were excellent. They came with a huge ice cube that was basically a frozen square of tea and coffee, so your drink didn't get watered down as it melted. BRILLIANT! Then came out our main entries. I ordered the pumpkin Thai curry with catfish. I can't remember at this current moment what my fiancé ordered, but I can tell you they both were ordered medium heat, and they were pretty dang hot. I'm glad I didn't go any higher. These two suggestions were THE BOMB! They absolutely destroyed what we get in Utah. The last thing I want to mention is how much this place cares about their employees. Yes, they add a 20% tip to all their bills to help their employees have a liveable wage, and it shows. Their employees were very kind, and they were so friendly with us. It made me willing to pay more tip on top of our current bill. Taking care of your employees is a very big deal to me as a manager. I highly recommend this place if you're in New Orleans and want something different yet outstanding. Read less

Thai Hey NOLA – A Hidden Gem of Bold Flavors and Authenticity From the moment we stepped onto the street, the aroma from Thai Hey NOLA was captivating—it instantly transported me home. The restaurant offers an impressive selection of vegetarian and vegan options, something you don’t always find with such authenticity. We started with the fried okra and a shrimp wrap (Dwayne’s pick), and I have to say, that fried okra was phenomenal—crispy, flavorful, and addictive. For my main course, I ordered the jackfruit curry, a rare find on menus, and it was an absolute standout. The dish had the perfect blend of Indian-Thai fusion flavors, rich with cinnamon, star anise, and warming spices. It was creamy, comforting, and beautifully complemented by a fresh cucumber salad and rice. Beyond the food, the experience was just as memorable. The service was warm and attentive, and we were seated outside, allowing us to soak in the vibrant energy of the city while enjoying a parade passing by. No complaints—everything was outstanding. If you’re in NOLA and looking for bold, authentic flavors with excellent service, Thai Hey NOLA is a must-visit! Read less

Thaihey NOLA is a hidden gem with super flavorful food! We loved the Pad Thai, fried rice, and the refreshing pandan water. We asked for spicy but it wasn’t quite spicy enough for our taste – still really tasty though. It’s a bit on the pricier side, and the portions don’t fully justify the cost, but worth trying if you’re craving Thai in New Orleans. Read less

ThaiHey might be the best restaurant in the city. The server today was magnificent, she was just so helpful and attentive. The food…my goodness the food. Everything was flavorful and the perfect amount of spice level. 20% gratuity added wasn’t enough for the service and the food. I am just floored. Read less

Fantastic food, REALLY loved it. Plenty of options for vegetarians/vegans with a dedicated section of the menu. Would go back if we’re in NOLA again! We got seated outdoors because they were full. They def forgot about us for a while after that but service picked up soon after. Thai iced tea with coconut cream foam was lovely and the okra fries starter was amazing. We had the vegetarian tom kha soup and pumpkin curry. The pumpkin curry was PHENOMENAL! And spice level was exactly what we asked for (really spicy!) which doesn’t happen often at Thai restaurants when we ask for a 4 or 5/5 spice level. Highly recommended. Read less
