This place is a vegan’s paradise! My go-to brunch and lunch place for the weekend in Berkeley! Can’t say enough good things. The vegan steak and egg sandwich on a hoagie roll is probably my favorite item on the menu (but I’ve never had anything I didn’t like here). The Reuben sandwich is also top notch, but on the richer side (taste wise). Basically, everything is good…just go…try it for yourself…and become just as obsessed! Also worth noting, they had a ton of case items that you can buy for home. Everything from desserts, sauces, snacks, vegan meats, and vegan cheese. They even carry the Climax vegan blue cheese that made headlines for causing disruption in the dairy blue cheese market. They have plenty of indoor seating as well as a beautiful private patio in the rear of the building. The staff do a great job of keeping the place clean and I’ve always left satisfied. Read less

Ah, I do appreciate that this is a dedicated vegan restaurant, but for us, it just was miss. My aunt (not vegan/plant-based) didn’t enjoy the fried “chicken” that she order on her Caesar salad. I tasted it and understood why, it had that weird , spongy, seitan texture. The salad alone is good because their dressing is excellent. I ordered the mozzarella sticks and Jalapeños Business. The inside of the mozzarella sticks didn’t give the cheesy pull that I’ve found at some other spots, it was more cakey. The marinara and breading was tasty, but I did not care for the cashew cheese’s texture. The flavor of the Jalapeño Business was good, but the texture was a miss for me. The highlight of the meal, was the pickle; they have some of the best pickles. For the two of us, we were definitely disappointed with the meal. I don’t see me trying this spot again; not willing to spend $65 on a meal that was so dissatisfying. Read less
