Since I discovered it, I've been back at least once a month. This Chelsea restaurant is one of the best I've found. The food is exquisite, with impressive presentations, high-quality ingredients, and exceptional service. Plus, their cocktails are worthy of a top-notch bar. As a Venezuelan, I can attest that the food is authentically delicious, and some dishes remind me of Caracas' fine dining scene. But what really impresses is that my friends from around the world - course from here, US, and Italy, Holland, Denmark, and Ecuador I have been there with them - have also been blown away. In short, if you're looking for a perfect spot for a special dinner or date :) this restaurant is a must-try. The atmosphere is cozy and ideal for conversation. Don't miss this gem in Chelsea! Thanks me later. Read less

A Hidden Gem for Authentic Venezuelan Cuisine! White Maize + is hands down one of the best Venezuelan restaurants I’ve ever been to! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. The owner, Kathy, is fantastic—her passion for quality and authenticity shines through in every dish, and the attention to detail from the entire team is impeccable. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely phenomenal! The beef carpaccio is a must-try, bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared. The empanaditas and tequeños are crispy, cheesy perfection, and the cachapa de queso is pure indulgence with the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The lasaña de asado negro is an absolute showstopper—tender, rich, and packed with deep, comforting flavors. And of course, you can’t go wrong with any of their arepas—each one is packed with fresh, high-quality ingredients that transport you straight to Venezuela. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Venezuelan food or trying it for the first time, White Maize + is the place to go. The food is outstanding, the service is top-notch, and the experience is unforgettable. Highly recommend! Read less

This elevated Venezuelan spot has fresh, Michelin level cocktails! The menu is unique and tailored to the flavors of the culture while also satisfying New York’s Cocktail Culture. If you go here, each drink is crafted and delicious. I tried the El Llanero with hints of pear and the La Fresa, a cocktail with Pistacio. For food, the empanadas are super tasty and not expensive. You can find a variety for each person, plus gluten free (corn based). Not only this but they play reggaeton and have a arepa brunch on weekends. Gabriel shines on the floor and is so friendly and chill. Highly recommend coming here and I’ll be back. Read less
