Just visited Woodlands, and wow — what a gem for anyone looking for pure vegetarian and vegan Indian cuisine in Nashville. Ambiance: The place has a clean, simple, and calming atmosphere. No loud distractions — just a comfortable space to enjoy your meal. You walk in and you know you're about to get an authentic experience. Feels warm and inviting without trying too hard. Food: Top-tier. The Paper Masala Dosa was massive, crispy, and packed with perfectly spiced potato filling. Gobi Manchurian? Sweet, tangy, and crunchy — hit all the right notes. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor, not the usual watered-down fare you find in some places. The weekend buffet looked like a solid option too, with a wide variety. Desserts: Desserts were seriously good. The Gulab Jamun was warm and syrup-soaked just right. And the rice kheer — creamy, lightly sweet, with that perfect cardamom touch. Dessert here isn’t just an afterthought, it’s part of the experience. Hospitality: The staff were attentive, polite, and knowledgeable. They made solid recommendations and ensured the meal was smooth from start to finish. Service was fast, but never rushed. You feel like you're being taken care of — without the corporate script. Final Verdict: Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or just craving good Indian food with soul, Woodlands delivers. No gimmicks, just great food and genuine hospitality. Highly recommend if you're in or around Nashville. Read less

This restaurant was on our way in our journey and we stopped for lunch. They had lunch buffet and the smells were delicious all the way out. They had a wait time of 10 minutes so we waited and looked around. They had take out lunch buffet for $10.99/lb which seemed ridiculous (I might be wrong about the price). All the South Indian food were amazing. The vadas, idli, upma, aloo bonda, and Bajji were simply delicious and amazing. The idli was soft. The aloo bonda was perfect with not too much batter on the outside. The sabudana vada was crispy on the side and soft inside. They had some pani puri that was okay-ish. The pani was a little on the sweeter side. All the chutneys for the idli’s were good. It was until later we discovered we could order dosa, which was good as well. Wish we knew about that as we walked in. The gobi looked fresh but taste was not that great. The rest of the main course wasn’t very special to mention here. The noodles were good, a little spicy, but good. The rice was dried up in places, and couldn’t eat it. The cake they put out wasn’t great, as the bottom was very hard, and everyone just took the top part of the cake. For a tres leches cake it was really dry. They had some burfi and that wasnt too sweet but was a little overwhelming. For a one time eat it was okay. We couldn’t justify the price for the food. While it’s a pure veg place it was a little underwhelming from the price point. But good for a visit to experience good Indian vegetarian food. Read less

This was hands down the best Indian food I have ever had in my life (and I’ve spent extended time in India). I was visiting for a short time and asked locals where I could find good Indian food and multiple people said Woodlands immediately. Even my uber driver was impressed that I heard about it and vouched for it. I am SO grateful for the recommendation and told everyone back home they MUST come here if they ever come to Nashville. I was full but didn’t want to leave any of it on the table! Great food, service, staff! I can’t wait to come back! Thank you! Read less

The Woodlands is a fantastic spot for vegetarian Indian cuisine in Nashville. The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of flavorful dishes that cater to both traditional and adventurous palates. The dosas are crispy and delicious, and the paneer dishes are especially well-prepared. Their spice levels are just right, and the food tastes fresh and authentic. The service is generally good, though it can be a bit slow during busy times. The ambiance is simple and functional—nothing fancy, but comfortable enough for a casual meal. One small downside is that parking can be tricky, especially during peak hours. Overall, The Woodlands is a solid choice for anyone looking for tasty vegetarian Indian food in Nashville. It’s not a five-star fine dining experience, but the food alone makes it worth a visit! Read less
