I stopped by to shop, first time at this location. Amazed by the retail selection and restaurant options. I will be back to dine on the patio, the bar looks really inviting as well. The retail shop has a huge selection of Baltimore goods. Love that I can reuse my kombucha bottle. Can't wait to become a regular here. Read less

If you haven't been, go! This place has many things that will make you happy: a market, so you can shop for your own kitchen, and feel good about your choices. Local is the theme, and I heard that 85% of what they sell is within 100 miles. The MOST local is their own HEX Ferments, which they make in the their production space right on premise. The items that arn't local are super cool ...you can understand why the team added them to their shelves. I adore the team that works here. I always have a nice interation with them... and yes, you can have a cocktail. They have interesting spirits, so go with a plan to explore. Yes, you can have a meal. If i were recommending anything to you I'd say check out the brine shots, and well, all those cocktail, mocktails and kombucha are wonderful... and the Powerhouse, mushroom bulgogi and radish sandwich are my go-to's. I'm sure I'd love other things ... that's why it's good to go with friends, so you can try more variety. They do catering--ask them, if that interests you.I seem to see lots of friends here, which is a wonderful side benefit. Before i end this review, make sure you know that there is parking. It's in the back. You can find it across from Govan's library. Thank you, Meaghan and Shane, you've created something super-wonderful when they created the Superette. Read less

The classes here have been super helpful for learning how to create kombucha and sauerkraut. The owners are very knowledgeable and patient with helping you out with your fermentations. They've made me excited about experimenting with my own fermentations at home. They also sell good fermentation books which have been helpful when having to debug things. On top of all of this, their food is incredible. We especially love the enchiladas and the grilled kim-cheese. Their menu is great inspiration for what you can do with the fermented foods that they are happy to teach you to create. Read less

I've recently become such a fan of Hex that I've started bringing my friends so they can see all they have to offer. First of all, being a plant mom myself, I absolutely love how they decorated the store with an array of plants. And they are all so pretty. A modern approach to the decor with plenty of plants makes for such an inviting space. You can pop a squat at the bar for a snack or meal, have a glass of natural wine and beer, or sample some of their kombuchas with a flight. They even offer brine shots. Which is exactly what it's called. The brine from their fermented products. I tried their food for the first time, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Hex's menu has a clean and healthy vibe with a twist on the dishes that are flavorful. I got the bratwurst special, and I must say I was shocked how much I enjoyed the bratwurst since I don't typically care for them. The brand of sausage they use is definitely good quality. And I can't forget to mention how much I love their kombuchas. After you've had some gut healthy food and beverages you can stroll over and take a gander at all the local products they offer. From their own fermented products to meats, veggies, sauces, spices, pet friendly items, and much more. With so many items to choose from, you'll definitely have to make another trip. Read less
