What can I say about Nawab? We have been going here for years and have never been disappointed. Tonight was no different. Gobi Manchurian is our favorite and we have tried it in many places, here and abroad. All the dishes we have tried over the years have been delicious, so much so that we get a to-go order many times. The servers are attentive and friendly and tonight we had the good fortune to run into Nehru, helping her brother (the owner) while he was vacationing. It was like meeting an old friend. Having been there twice, I tried something new both times. I tried the korma and the saag chicken dishes. I ordered the garlic Naan as well, and it's very crispy and thin. I would order everything I tried here again. I will echo some of the complaints on portion sizes-- the korma I had enough to bring a second meal home whereas the saag I ate in one sitting. I understand spices and such are expensive, especially in this economy but you could plus up the serving size with my protein in my opinion. Read less

I’m okay with this place. Pricey for how much you get. White table cloth and white paper placemats, all white chinaware makes up for some I guess. Ratio of protein and sauce need to be balanced. The five chunks of lamb and chicken were drowning in the curry sauce. Chicken is not that expensive, and for $22 an entree, beef it up at least. Taste-wise, better than good, meats were tender but almost dry. I’d go back if ever I’m craving for Indian food and they are close by. Read less

We came to Nawab in Virginia Beach as a party of six (including two kids), hoping for a satisfying Indian meal. While the ambience was pleasant and the service attentive, the food simply didn’t deliver. I ordered a spicy chicken curry and made sure to ask for it spicy - what came out was mild at best and lacked depth. Overall, the dishes felt underwhelming and lacked the punch we expected from Indian cuisine. We were hungry, and yes, the food fed us - but for the price we paid, the flavors just didn’t justify the cost. My son, a die-hard butter chicken fan, refused to eat the one served here - that alone says a lot. If you're going mainly for the food, this place might not hit the mark. Read less

Should be a negative rating! Poor customer service, poor management and poor preparation of food. Informed establishment of food discrepancies the same day order was placed. Female manager said that the items would be prepared at no charge. Upon calling the establishment for order replacement, a male manager stated that only one item would be complimentary and payment will be required for the other. I informed him that a female manager said that the items would be free as the establishment messed up the initial order. He stated that it's been weeks since the order. I stated that we're a military family and I would definitely post this experience on Google. Then he said both items would be no charge. Upon picking up items, the manager was forceful about tasting the food before leaving the establishment! I'll purchase Indian food from Trader Joe's (which is quite delicious and they offer 100% money back if customer is not satisfied) before ever patronizing this establishment! THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS DEFINITELY OFF OUR LIST OF RESTAURANTS! Read less
