Absolutely delicious Indian Cuisine!

Wonderful customer service. Tandoori chicken is the best I've ever had. Garlic, cilantro Naan was delicious as was the lamb vindaloo.A hidden gem.

Avatar had a great atmosphere with soft instrumental Indian music and incense in the air. The Garlic and Cilantro Naan was thin style and a mix of soft and crunchy textures. The garlic and cilantro flavors created an excellent combination. We ended up ordering more. The Lamb Vindaloo was moist, savory, and flavorful. It wasn't the softest lamb vindaloo I've had, though, with a couple of slightly chewy pieces. The medium spicy level was okay. If you're used to spicy flavors, I'd recommend a higher level if you want a kick. The Butter Chicken had a soft, buttery texture to start and finished with a rich herbal and spicy flavor. The medium spicy level is satisfying if you are used to spicy flavors. The Basmati Rice was soft yet firm and had enough flavor to enjoy on its own. I'd say one order is just enough for 2-3 people with two entrees. Read less

This Indian restaurant is a hidden gem in Granite Bay, near Folsom Lake. The food is authentic and delicious!

The food is superb, delicious, perfectly cooked every time, moist, rich, all the things. The service is on point and the ambiance is serene.

Love the decor and soft Indian music. Our groups usually order their own dish but it's presented so you can all share. Each person has an individual plate with the entrees in the middle of the table. The entrees are far too large to be finished by one person. We always have food to take home! Read less

Love this beautiful restaurant tucked in the corner of a strip mall , near a wine tasting room, gift store, and nail salon. The atmosphere is delightful with lovely Indian music. But the food, oh my, the food! Their plates arrive warm, the food is piping hot, the aromas are seductive, and the flavors rich, perfect. I have now eaten at Avatar no less than 10 times so I think my recommendation holds more weight than someone who has just popped in one time. They are consistently excellent. Read less
