I was very skeptical about this place as there aren’t very many decent Mexican restaurants in Elgin, however Mr. Cesar’s did not disappoint! From the tacos to the enchilada dinner was delicious and the portion sizes do not disappoint!! I highly recommend for tasty authentic Mexican food. Read less

It's a nice hidden gem. Stop by on Saturday around 3pm. Food was delicious i got the taco dinner wife got the torta dinner. The meat was juicy and the torta was big, pre-covid big. Horchata was sweet not bland. Can't wait to go back and try something different. Maybe a molcajete or menudo. They have slots but in a separate room, which is nice and not in the open. Read less

Love the flavors we ate at Mr. Cesar's. The al pastor burrito was the winner dish- good value and delicious. My kid and I split an enchilada dinner and although it was all fresh and tasty, I would have liked slightly bigger portions of rice and beans. Kind of skimped out on those. The place is in a gas station, and the restaurant was very clean, but you can only get so much atmosphere in a gas station. Would definitely recommend take out and I'm getting that burrito next time! This place is hard to see from the street so you might miss it if you drive by. It’s next to the gas station on the corner. I had the taco dinner with steak. The meat was very good and the salsa was unique and tasty. The prices are reasonable and service was fast. This is worth trying out if you want good tacos and such. They do take out, but have plenty of seating if you eat in. The chips and salsa were above average, so it’s worth it. Read less
