This was my very first time dining at a vegan restaurant, and wow—PLANTA Cocina blew me away! The food was umm umm good—like seriously, every bite was packed with flavor and creativity. There was definitely an Asian fusion twist happening with many of the dishes, and it worked beautifully. From the appetizers to the dessert, everything was thoughtfully prepared and full of bold, delicious flavors. I wasn’t sure what to expect walking in, but I walked out a fan for life. If you're curious about vegan cuisine or just love great food, PLANTA Cocina is absolutely worth checking out. Even non-vegans will be impressed—I know I was! Read less

Planta Cocina was one of the best vegan dining experiences I’ve had. It’s definitely on the higher end, but everything—from the food to the service and the atmosphere—was totally worth it. The menu had so many creative and flavorful options, it was hard to choose just one. I ended up ordering a few plates to try more things, and every bite was delicious. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel good about treating yourself. If you're vegan (or even if you're not), this spot is a must-visit in DC. Read less

Fantastic food! I was a bit weary about the watermelon tuna but it was fantastic you would never know it was made from watermelon. We had the spicy tuna roll, baked crab roll, red dragon roll and broccoli and beef. The baked crab was my least favorite but it was still very good. The atmosphere was fantastic throughout the whole restaurant and while the service could have been a bit better we still had a fantastic time overall Read less

Had a pretty good time here other than getting tricked into a $19 pineapple and vodka. The guy who seated us was great and came by a couple of times to check on us, so we really wished he had been our waiter. The girl who took our order also seemed to be the bartender because when I asked her for just a cheap well vodka with pineapple, I ended up with a drink more expensive than all of the other drinks on the menu. In terms of food, everything was amazing! The shareables were all delicious and the tees leches was really popular with the non gluten free folks at the table. Would totally come back just maybe be a little pickier on drink choices. Good vegan and gluten free options! Read less

I’m familiar with Planta’s other DC and the Miami location and have been wanting to check the Cocina location out. Stopped in for what i thought was a later dinner.. turns out they have a PM happy hour… with LOTS of options!! The restaurant was very busy but wasn’t overwhelming with noise! Not sure how they did it, but it worked. We were seated right away! Dennis was an exceptional waiter!! Very attentive! Now… on to the food… hands down one of the BEST tasting Vegan dishes from a restaurant I’ve had in a long time! And I’ve been plant based for close to 20yrs!! Everything was off the happy hour and they have ALOT of options!! I’ll let the pics speak for themselves. However I didn’t get a pic of the pumpkin guacamole… ate it too quickly! But it was delicious! Ps. The Mushroom tacos were AMAZING!! Just ask for extra crème on the side because it’s sooo worth it!! Read less
