Absolutely delicious! The entire menu is, or can be made gluten free. This includes pancakes, fried chicken, waffles, bread - the works. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes and they were absolutely stellar. They also ask if the table has any allergies, which I appreciate. It's pretty quiet and laid back. The servers were all so kind and tentative. I will definitely be back on my next NY trip! Read less
My favo breakfast in Manhattan
Petit déjeuner copieux. Service rapide et au top. Tarifs New-yorkais.

The menu has so many gluten free options! The GF bread and bun were great. They did not skimp on the amount of meat they provided us in our sandwiches which is nice. The pastrami was a bit dry- it wasn’t bad but certainly not the best pastrami. I had to ask our server for the Russian dressing since it wasn’t on my Reuben and without the dressing it would have been very dry. The fries were cold which was disappointing. Overall, the food was delicious, and I would go back to try other items. Read less

Friedman’s, a small chain in NYC, is a reliable eatery with a well prepared, something for everyone menu. I’m of the “never the wrong time for breakfast“ persuasion, and Friedman’s meets this brief (at least until 4p; it isn’t perfect). The food is straightforward, things like sandwich, soups, and burgers. The sides offer nice variety, including both potato and sweet potato fries as options. There is a bar and a happy hour that starts at 4p. (I guess their clocks are slow because it goes on for way longer than an hour, at least according to my watch.) The branch on 31st street moved down the street within the last few years, and the space is a huge improvement over the old digs. Clean, well lit, dare I say - inviting? Prices are NYC reasonable, meaning you’ll find them ridiculously expensive if you aren’t from NY, SF, DC. The kitchen accommodates various dietary restrictions; very friendly for those who are vegetarian and/or don’t eat gluten. Read less
