The grilled vegan shrimp with fried rice was pretty good. However, it would have been great if it included more shrimp. It only came with 3-pieces of shrimp with a small drizzle of mayo sauce, that was served in a pint sized container. Besides that, the customer service was great and I would definitely visit again to try out their other specialties. Read less

Absolute gem of a plant based restaurant. the firecracker Cauliflower is buffalo cauliflower but well dressed and crispy. the ginger wonton soup isn’t anything to write home about but has a solid base. Their rice mix with wild and quinoa is SO good. the chick’n is definitely crispy but not my favorite. For food and options it gets 5 stars but the tables are not set up well at all. I don’t know who designed them but they are an awkward height and strange trapezoid shape. The digital menu tablet that you order from is also super different from the one on the displayed menu. POW POW FTW Pow Pow has been my go-to plant-based gem on H Street for YEARS, and let me tell you—it never misses! The vibe? Immaculate. The food? A FLAVOR EXPLOSION. The service? Always super friendly and kind. I highly recommend the Trolley Fries (crispy, seasoned perfection) and the Teriyaki Chicken Fried Rice—the portion was HUGE, and every bite was packed with that rich, umami goodness. My friend got the Dan Dan Noodles and was ready to write a love letter to the chef. We even went to a dance class, worked up an appetite, and CAME BACK for more. Yes, it was that good. And shoutout to the staff for still welcoming us with kindness even though we pulled up 10 minutes before closing. The ordering process is seamless (self-ordering kiosks = quick & easy), and the space itself? A whole vibe. Think lush greenery, a stunning mural, and feel-good music that makes you want to stay a while. They really lean into the plant-based aesthetic, and I’m here for it. Whether I’m pulling up solo or rolling deep with friends, Pow Pow is always a must. Pro tip: PAY FOR YOUR SAUCE BEFORE PICKUP! They’re not playing about the extra sauce game anymore 😂. If you haven’t been, check it out. Your taste buds will thank you. Read less

I'm really disappointed in this place after having a great experience at their Arlington Bubbies Plant Burgers earlier that day. When we walked in, none of the workers said anything, so we weren't sure whether to order at the tablet or at the cashier. We noticed that the menu on the tablet was missing things that were listed on the physical menu on the wall. The physical menu also said stuff about various drink options, but we couldn't find them on the tablet menu, even though we wanted to order fountain drinks. After ordering, we realized that several pipes from the ceiling were dripping water. The place also smelled like sewer. Perhaps one of the biggest letdowns was that the bathroom was employees only, so we weren't able to wash our hands. My sister and I used napkins and some of the free water to wipe our hands. My sister and I got several things to share. We got the firecracker cauliflower, egg roll, Dan Dan carbonara, Angry Noodles, and the dessert egg roll. The firecracker cauliflower was probably our favorite item. The egg roll was extremely greasy and pretty bland. The Dan Dan carbonara had WAY too much going on and was way too salty, I could only eat a couple of bites. It had huge chunks of bell pepper, onion, brussel sprouts, and it just didn't go with the creamy sauce. It would be better if it were just a simple traditional Dan Dan noodle. The Angry Noodles were also way too salty and had too much going on. The sauce didn't really go well with the Korean fried chicken on top. The dessert egg roll was really good with the agave honey. Overall, for the very high prices, atmosphere, and odd, salty food, I won't be returning here. Read less
