Sorry... I really wanted to leave a good review here - for several reasons. Mainly because it's a Black-owned business, in a great location, and offering me the promise of a healthy lunch while serving on jury duty downtown. Unfortunately, this salad-specialty restaurant was out of the basic ingredients to make most of the salads available on their menu. No suggestions or help from the Staff, so I ended up ordering something concocted on the fly, and almost inedible. First impressions count for me. It is unlikely I'll stop here again. Read less

Half the staff were incredibly rude. They had run out of some really basic things they offer by noon, and they didn't clearly indicate that items had run out with signs or anything. On the other end of the poor customer service spectrum, I asked for an item on the menu and a staff member said they didn't have it, even though they actually did have it. When I asked her about other items on the menu, she did not seem to know what they were and quickly became agitated, interrupting my questions and raising her voice at me. Some other customers had come in right after me and I understand the lunch rush may be stressful, but this was wildly unprofessional. Then then person who rang me up, who I think may have been a manager, tossed my salad bowl on the counter with a lot of attitude and did not give me a fork. The only forks in the whole place were behind the register (unlike the napkins, straws, cups, and lids which were out in the open) so I had to circle back and ask for one. Their tables wobble all over the place. When you use their soda fountain, it leaks all over your hand. The food was fine but incredibly overpriced. Eat elsewhere. Quick update like 5 minutes after posting since I just read similar experiences in other reviews and I forgot to mention- they only filled my bowl halfway, and it was mostly spinach. I’ve been eating at Nalley Fresh for years. They always have had good portions of healthy food at an affordable price. Today I had to “make my own” sweet potato bowl on Grubhub. It cost significantly more than it used to. When it arrived, the bowl was at least 1/2 the usual size with 1/2 the toppings. I also did not get the extra chicken that I ordered. Goodbye Nalley Fresh. It was good while it lasted. Chopt has much larger servings at better prices. Read less
