Othello's Plant-Based Kitchen impressed me! Chef Gene is not only a talented chef but also runs a super cool, welcoming restaurant with great energy. I ordered the Homemade Bean Burger on a pretzel bun, and it was incredible. The patty was full of flavor with a perfect texture, and once I added their homemade Hickey Smoke BBQ sauce—it took the whole burger to the next level. Highly recommend! We also had the Othello's Berry Smoothie (24oz), which was refreshing and bursting with fresh flavor. And for dessert? The pecan pie and sweet potato pie were both on point—classic, rich, and full of that traditional homemade taste. We devoured them so fast that I forgot to take pictures! This place is a hidden gem. Norm was wonderful! When you walk in you feel like you’re walking into a friend’s home and they’re making you dinner. A regular was there buying a double large order of chili. He gave me a sample while waiting, and even though I was ordering something else, the chili was so good I ordered a large to go. For the short time he was very kind, knowledgeable and a good listener. I randomly stated that my holistic health couch wanted me to eat more raw foods so he asked I wanted extra lettuce on my spicy vegan chicken burger. Besides the chili I sampled the sauce for his pasta dishes and they were very tasty as well. Lots of flavor! I was eating and driving during traffic so unfortunately no photos to share.
