✨ 5 stars ✨ Sauce isn’t just dinner; it’s an experience that awakens your senses. From the moment you knock on the door and are greeted with a warm welcome, you feel like you’ve stepped into another world. The velvet tablecloths, the lit candles, the dreamy music, the perfect room temperature, the way you’re checked on just enough but left to truly be with your date—it’s a space that invites you to slow down and be present. We had a five-course dinner, and each dish was impressive. We started with fresh bread and oil alongside a crispy tomato salad that felt like being on the coast somewhere, eating fresh, seasonally appropriate foods. The homemade garlic knots with house sauce were soft, airy, and comforting, with the perfect savory red sauce for dipping. The Caesar salad was light and crisp, and the homemade veggie lasagna with fresh garden herbs and a toasted parmesan garlic crostini was wholesome and deeply comforting. We finished with a toasted coconut cake that was the perfect sweet note to end on. The portions were generous without being heavy, and I was blown away by how healing this meal was for me personally. I have severe stomach problems and have barely been able to eat solid food for weeks, but this was the first time I could eat multiple courses without getting sick. It truly felt like medicine, made with care and intention. Putting our phones away and being fully present, my boyfriend and I ended up having conversations we’re usually too distracted to have. Sauce really leans into the sensual experience of food, not in the way people joke about, but in a real, life-giving way. Food that is beautiful, nourishing, and made with love. I’ve seen a lot of people bashing Sauce, assuming that it’s some kind of sex-crazed, intimidating place, but I found it to be soft, welcoming, safe, and ultimately a sensory experience. Samantha knocked it out of the park. You’ll be given the option to take a Polaroid photo with your date to remember the experience, which I find to be super cute (I know we all love documenting our experiences, let’s be real). If you have the chance, go. Let yourself be taken care of, savor each bite, and let the experience remind you how beautiful it is to simply enjoy a meal. That’s what it’s all about, in a world where we’re too distracted to just be PRESENT. Read less

I recently dined at Sauce, drawn in by its promise of an immersive, erotically charged vegan-tasting experience. The website sets bold expectations: guests relinquish their phones into velvet bags, sign the Mistress’s book, and don sensual all-black attire evocative of a gothic château. The fascinating concept of an atmosphere charged with intimacy and power exchange with the doms/Mistress—a carefully choreographed interplay of dominance, submission, and sensory indulgence. Alas, execution is everything; in this case, the execution was disappointingly…vanilla. From the moment I was seated, it became clear that the dom/sub energy the restaurant so heavily advertises was largely performative—more kitsch than kink. The experience never once evoked the structured, attentive service one might associate with a protocol-driven or sensual environment. Courses were delivered sans explanation with long gaps in between, and no effort was made to guide the evening with the theatricality the setting demands, including the server's prolonged departure from the dining room. First Course: Grilled Mango and Asparagus Wrapped in Vegan Cheese The dish arrived lukewarm and visually unimpressive. The mango, billed as grilled, was mushy and lacked sear or caramelization. The asparagus was overcooked, and the vegan cheese carried a plasticky aftertaste that overwhelmed the plate. There was no synergy, no intrigue—just a trio of mismatched textures and underwhelming flavors. Third Course: Lemon Garlic Pesto Pasta The pasta was overcooked and gummy. The pesto was dull and unbalanced, lacking the citrusy brightness or herbaceous depth that might have saved the dish. It felt heavy, uninspired, and entirely too safe for a place that claims to be provocative. Overall Notes for the Courses Given the four-course set menu, the courses were appropriately sized. The second and fourth courses had no significant complications. Décor & Setting The ambiance, much like the menu, promised more than it delivered. The music was loud but not moody. The napkins felt cheap with bad stitching, and the overall aesthetic leaned more toward budget costume party than gothic seduction. There was no richness, no immersive design that transported or transformed the space. Even small details—distinguishing immersive fine dining from themed dinners—were absent or poorly executed. The one saving grace of the décor is the addition of local art; however, it was relegated to the side hallway. Final Thoughts Sauce is a concept with great potential: a mysterious, high-sensory dining experience that fuses plant-based cuisine with theatrical sensuality. But the idea alone is not enough. The disconnect between what’s promised—ritual, submission, opulence—and what’s delivered—bland food, inattentive service, and dollar-store ambiance—is glaring. Sadly, what should have been bold and boundary-pushing was instead forgettable, flavorless, and entirely too vanilla. For a place that demands your phone, your wardrobe, and your obedience—not to mention $70/head, it owes you a lot more in return. Re-Response from the Owner (June 16th) Firstly, I pity that my review had the eloquence your dining experience lacked, such that you had to call it a 'generated review'. Secondly, stating to me to that 'your plates that were completely empty' is categorically false as I left every plate unfinished. 'Tis quite unbecoming to lie in response to reviews. Read less

I've wanted to try this restaurant since it opened, but I live out-of-state and did not have the opportunity until visiting Pennsylvania this week. I had the tacos for lunch, as well as a slice of chocolate cake, both were incredible! These are hands down the best vegan tacos I've had since giving up meat 19 years ago, and going fully vegan 10 years ago. Full of flavor and very filling. I can't figure out how the owner managed to make such a delicious filling for the tacos while also perfecting the texture. The chocolate cake was absolutely decadent, moist, and had a layered flavor profile other than chocolate which kept every bite interesting. I can tell this was a well thought out recipe for both the tacos and cake, and the owner puts a lot of love into her recipes. My schedule did not allow me to enjoy a dinner here during this visit, but I look forward to working it into my schedule for a future visit to Erie. I got to briefly tour the interior of the restaurant and found it to be fun and creative. I hope to get the full experience someday. Bravo! I love the concept and the food! Read less

ONE OF THE BEST DINING EXPERIENCES WE HAVE EVER HAD!! This restaurant is AMAZING!! The atmosphere, the attentiveness of the staff, the awesome Chef, Samantha, ~ the absolutely ASTONISHING menu! Just, WOW!! Firstly, you would never know the food is vegan. I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian, so I consume eggs and dairy. My spouse is an omnivore. We were both blown away by the quality of the food ~ such a beautiful presentation, and absolutely delighted and delicious meal. Secondly, the sensuous quality of the restaurant and the lovely and lush atmosphere cannot be overstated. There is absolutely nothing I would change about our experience ~ everything was excellent. The prix fixe dinner was worth every penny, the service was beyond comparison, and actually getting to converse with such an accomplished chef as Samantha was a bonus. I cannot recommend Sauce highly enough. The menu changes weekly, so we are going back to experience a new creation next week, and are very much looking forward to it! Foodie paradise has arrived, and it happens to be vegan ~ EVEN BETTER!! Enjoy your experience here ~ you will not be able to replicate it until you are fortunate enough to return! Read less
